The Ring Went Round

Gasthaus Zum Hirschen, Jana and Paul’s engagement dinner. At 19:30 Jana takes off the ring from Paul’s grandmother, puts it in its old box and passes it to her left so everyone can see it. At 19:45 the box is back with her, closed. She puts it in her handbag without looking.

At 20:30 she wants to put the ring back on. The box is empty. Five people held it. Who took the ring, and where is it now?
